 My professional superpower is: I have had a high success rate over the years in predicting technology change and its impact on the events industry.

 The #1 thing people can hire me to do is: Three things: speaking, consulting and writing.

 I’m most passionate about:  The amazing variety of the world we live in as well as this moment in time. We are very lucky to live in the most incredible time that humans have ever lived.

The technology that I wouldn’t want to live without is: Probably like most people, my smart phone. Also, the 60 mb/sec internet connection in my office is nice.

 The app I use most obsessively is: There are many I regularly use. Hootsuite, Waze for GPS, GoogleMaps,Speedtest.net,  FlightBoard to name a few.

The most innovative use of event tech I’ve ever seen is:  I think the use of Google Hangouts two years ago during Event Camp Europe for a virtual wine tasting – on site and in 4 remote hybrid meeting pods. They shipped out the wine in advance. The winemaker came on to describe the wine, everyone heard the description, felt the wine glass in their hand, saw the color and legs, smelled the bouquet and tasted the wine. All 5 senses were engaged using free technology that just a decade ago would have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars with satellite feeds.

My go-to guilty pleasure food is:  I usually eat very healthy and am almost a vegetarian. However, very occasionally can’t resist a well prepared side of barbequed baby-back ribs.

The thing that always gets me to laugh without fail is: My favorite daily laugh hit is the Daily Show

One thing that would really surprise people to learn about me is: Perhaps that I played guitar in a blues band during college with a shock of shoulder-length bright red hair.
