What is the “problem” that your tool seeks to solve?

livecube is an event app built to make events more engaging and interactive by applying gamification to audience participation. Beyond servicing the basics – agenda, speakers, location, logistics info, and sponsors – we’re all about driving focus and attention to social behavior, networking, surveys, and much more.

What is the best audience for this tool? Corporate events? Social? Other? Large? Small?
Corporate events looking for a private social media tool have loved livecube while Social events looking for social media amplification have had great results with some of them becoming top trending on twitter!  We can handle events of all sizes.

What does your tool help event planners do better?

livecube helps event planners capture the conversation in the room in real time and have analytics to measure audience engagement around the conversation and networking.  It also helps drive pre/during/post event engagement with pre and post engagement often a huge challenge for planners.

How is your tool different from/better than the competition?

#1) We’re a web-app that requires NO downloads.  Since 30-90% of attendees won’t download a new app, we wanted to make sure we’re as accessible and easy to use as possible.  Because of that, we’ve had events with over 95% usage.
#2) Everything we do is powered by gamification. This isn’t just a basic point system, it’s well thought out game mechanics system built by experts who have (literally) written books on Gamification.  We make sure the right short, mid, and long term behavior are appropriately incentivized so that people build a deeper connection with the event.

What is the single coolest feature of your product?

Our Survey and Polling Tool has begun to replace Audience Response Systems, which has been really exciting.  It’s a lot of fun for the audience and a great way to gather instant data from an audience.

Anything else we need to know?

All events, universally, are about sharing ideas and networking.  We built livecube to compliment that activity so that your mobile device is no longer a distraction but a tool to help you find deeper knowledge and better connections at every event you attend.

This weekly series spotlights a new tech tool that is designed to help make planning events much more seamless. Whether it’s using event software to track every detail from start to finish or mobile apps that deliver content to attendees’ fingertips, these technologies allow planners to divert their stress to more critical issues like deciding which napkin color looks best.
