Event Tech of the Week: @VirtualEventBag

Today, we’re talking about Virtual Event Bags

Company/Tool Name: Virtual Event Bags
Website: www.VirtualEventBags.com

What is the “problem” that your tool seeks to solve?

We provide a more efficient and effective way to deliver sponsor and event-related content to attendees via a turn-key digital platform.

What is the best audience for this tool? Corporate events? Social? Other? Large? Small?

Events of all sizes can use our platform. Think of how you deliver sponsor messages and other event content to your attendees today.  Email? Website page? Printed brochures or flyers? Our system provides you an interactive, customized micro-website specifically for this content that is far more effective than any of these traditional methods.

What does your tool help event planners do better?

Our tool is easy-to-use and helps you manage the most difficult aspects of sponsor and event-related content; i) creation, ii) distribution and iii) reporting. In addition, there is no app to download.  Our service is a mobile-responsive web app, so it can fit nicely into your existing mobile app.

How is your tool different from/better than the competition?

Our primary competition is old habits!  For example, sending a series of emails to attendees on behalf of your sponsors or asking your sponsors to print a bunch of flyers to stuff in a plastic bag. Wouldn’t it be great if you could consolidate all this information into one place that was accessible on any device before, during and after the event? Now you can!

What is the single coolest feature of your product?

Our Content Builder.  Have you ever had to build an email or webpage using content from other people?  You send a specific request for images, text, etc., but you never get back what you want, when you want it.  Our Content Builder eliminates all of that by enabling your sponsor (or you) to build the placement directly, no graphics skills required!

Anything else we need to know?

A major dilemma for events is balancing the needs of sponsors with the desire to deliver a first-class experience for attendees.  Most sponsors require, at some point, access to the attendee list.  But when you provide this information, you can be certain that every sponsor will send a series of emails before and after the event.  Not a good experience for the attendees, the trust of which you worked so hard to build.  Our tool enables you to meet the needs of your sponsors, primarily access to your attendees, but only when they earn that access through an intelligent, relevant message offered through the digital event bag that you control.
Don’t have sponsors for your event? There are still many creative ways to use the platform. Universities are using it to deliver digital content for new student orientation. Festivals are using it to provide their vendors more opportunities to connect. The options are limited only by your creativity.
Did I mention affordable? Our Professional edition is only $1,500, flat fee with access to everything we described, plus several enhanced placement types that allow your sponsors to embed video, run in-line contests, run mini-surveys and more!

This weekly series spotlights a new tech tool that is designed to help make planning events much more seamless. Whether it’s using event software to track every detail from start to finish or mobile apps that deliver content to attendees’ fingertips, these technologies allow planners to divert their stress to more critical issues like deciding which napkin color looks best.
