We Pinned It: Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year or the Chinese Spring Festival, is the most important of the Chinese festivals and holidays. This year, 2015 is the year of the Goat (Sheep) and it begins on February 19th. The holiday lasts for the first fifteen days of the Chinese lunar calendar, and is traditionally a time to honor deities and ancestors.

Remember to clean house and decorate with the red, the color of good luck, before beginning the festivities. There are many special foods to be enjoyed during this time, and a great number of opportunities to celebrate with family and friends.

The Goat (Sheep) is a symbol of Peace, Harmonious co-existence and Tranquility. Now, that’s a reason to celebrate!
