Ask the Attendees: @gogreenride
Recently, we told you about TechStyle, an event held during Fashion Week that brought together fashion and technology. The event had a wonderful turnout and attendees enjoyed the chance to celebrate NYC’s fashion week in techsy style!
But just who are the brands that attended the event? What’s their take on the event industry? And what did they think of TechsyStyle? We took the opportunity to interview a few of the attendees and over the next few days will be featuring their interviews, read on for a peek inside the guests’ heads:
We spoke with Adam Gelman – Chief Commercial Officer
– First of all, please tell our readers about GoGreenRide – what is the company all about?
GoGreenRide is a carbon neutral and tech savvy car service in NYC that offers the luxury and amenities of a black car at the price of a yellow cab. At our core, we are about reliability, accountability and unmatched customer service. We flipped the industry model by owning our cars and employing our drivers, which allows us to control the full user experience.
– What were the 3 keys to getting the company off the ground – where did you invest your time?
Creating a company culture that embraced a change to the customer service standards of the car service industry, offering salary to drivers in an independent contractor industry to attract the highest level of drivers, and creating strategic partnerships with companies that understood the difference we were trying to make.
– What was your experience like at TechStyle this year? What was your biggest takeaway?
TechStyle has become one of my favorite events to attend in NYC, not just during fashion week, but year round. Janine and her team do such a remarkable job infusing innovative brands, which creates an entrepreneurial spirit that is hard to find at fashion week events.
– Have the events you’ve participated in brought in more business for GoGreenRide?
Absolutely. My background before GoGreenRide is in the event industry, which gives us the ability to partner on fantastic events. The key is balance. Most companies desire events that provide a high level of exposure in terms of the quantity of attendees, which is great. However, I choose to focus more time getting quality social influencers in our car, such as change-makers, entrepreneurs and philanthropists that are natural leaders.
– How has social media worked in your favor?
Social is a big part of what we do as we are running a 24/7 operation and constantly have people communicating with us. It’s a great outlet to connect with your users in an informal, friendly and efficient way.
– Finally, what is your favorite app?
Twitter. It’s the best way to connect with people and to discover what’s happening in real time.
