We Pinned It: Quinoa
Quin-wha? This versatile little seed with the funny name is steadily replacing boring old brown rice in recipes everywhere. Aside from its many health benefits – it’s high in fiber, protein and magnesium, and it’s gluten free, which makes it a great choice for diabetics, body builders and people who suffer from Celiac disease – quinoa can be stored, dry, for a long time.
Bake with it, add it to soups and salads, or use it to replace meat altogether. Quinoa can be consumed for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even dessert (chocolate chip quinoa no bake cookies, anyone?). Plus, it comes in a variety of colors, and it is so tiny and cute!
Whether you are a quinoa connoisseur or you’re unfamiliar with this new seed on the block, here’s a board filled with some of the delicious quinoa recipes we enjoyed this month.
