They used to fetch cups of coffee and answer phones while smoking cigarettes and wearing pencil skirts. At least that’s how secretaries are always depicted in shows like Mad Men! Nowadays, Administrative Assistants continue to handle correspondence and coordinate schedules but, they also have to manage passwords, post on social media and share files. It isn’t enough to type 80 wpm (although that’s a plus!); administrative professionals need to be tech savvy too. Think outside the box on April 22^nd and thank your assistant with some techy tools to help make her job easier. Of course, flowers and candy are always nice too!
