Give us your best elevator pitch for MEET on Chrystie?

MEET on Chrystie is the perfect space for companies to reinvent their products, reimagine their business, or simply refresh for work in the following quarter. We’ve thought through every detail so that you don’t have to. We have special touches like a complimentary wine and cheese tasting at the end of the day that makes everyone feel right at home and well taken care of so they can focus on their work and the future success of their company.

What would you say is MEET’s most unique offering?

MEET combines amazing service with fun and fantastic design. Our “My Favorite Things” lamps can hold brand specific items so clients can creatively and tastefully customize the space to meet a company’s needs. Then, our team can curate fabulous food pairings that are on brand for the company or the mission for the day (IE: Sweetgreens salads custom made for each guest looking for “brain fue,” or Shake Shack Burgers and Levain Bakery Cookies for your out of towners eager to try some of NYC’s world famous offerings.)

What do you think would surprise most planners to know about your space?

Most event planners would be surprised to know the flexibility that we’ve built into this custom space. We can hold focus groups for 8 guests, a board meeting for 20, an elegant seated dinner for 40, or an all out rocking party for 200. And, because we include costs for everything we built into the space in our rental rates, they’ll be surprised at how well priced we are given the level of service and what’s included.

What is one thing you wish more event planners knew about your space?

We’d want planners to know how much our space and the experience of our staff facilitates the needs of our clients in ways they never even imagined. Our team is creative and empowered to say YES to anything our clients request (within reason…)!

We had a client sitting at our kitchen table on a site visit discussing what would be the “perfect” team building event for their C-Level participants to follow up a day of workshops they had planned here. We ended up helping them decide that the team would stay here and work together to set up and serve dinner to each other so that they were working as a team, but enjoying a family stlye meal and glass of wine as a group, at the same time. Our catering team worked with them to set the table, serve the courses, clear the dishes, and pour the drinks. The MEET team has a strong background in catering, restaurants and events, so we were able to easily figure out the logistics for executing an evening that our clients raved about as it was happening, and in the mupltiple times they’ve come back and worked with us since.

What is the most memorable thing you’ve seen an event do with your space?

We had one client create Andy Warhol style images that integrated the product they were featuring for a brand launch and hang them in place of many of our art pieces. They were inspired by the essence of the design of our space as a launching point for creating a unique and stand out event for their clients, and it was awesome to see a complete brand take over of our space that was so seamlessly woven into the existing decor.

If you could throw one dream event, what would it be?

Our dream event would capture the three elements of MEET that we love: food, art, and wine. We would have Chef’s create food that related to our pieces of artwork and preparing it live in our communal kitchen. We’d have artists actively curating immersive experiences that our guests would be involved in as they were drinking the custom wine that our owners have been making for the past five years.

This weekly series spotlights venues that can accommodate groups large or small for private and corporate events, conferences, meetings, weddings, business dinners, team building activities, cocktail parties, and more.
