TechStyleNYC is an event, held during Fashion Week, that brought together fashion and technology.  The event had a wonderful turnout and attendees enjoyed the chance to celebrate NYC’s fashion week in techsy style!

But just who are the brands that attended the event? What’s their take on the event industry? And what did they think of TechStyle NYC? We took the opportunity to interview a few of the attendees and over the next few days will be featuring their interviews, read on for a peek inside the guests’ heads:


We talked to Kim Katz, founder of True Organic Concepts.

First of all, please tell our readers about you – what is the company all about?

My name is Kim Katz I opened a “green” organic hair salon called True Concepts Hair Design  in 2011 and last year started my own line of all-natural and organic hair care products. I believe that what you use on your body is just as important as what you put into it.

What were the 3 keys to getting the company off the ground – where did you invest your time?

I have invested my time and resources creating natural hair care formulations using only the best quality ingredients. I believe strongly that the look of the True Concepts Organics brand needs to reflect what my business is about: simple and clean hair, maintained beautifully without harmful chemicals. We are currently upgrading our label designs as we get ready for more new products launching winter 2015/16.

Just having participated in TechStyle NYC, what role do live events play in your branding and marketing initiatives?

Live events are a great way to meet new people — not just costumers but people who can help spread the word about our sustainable beauty products.

What was a successful social media campaign you hosted that showed great engagement and traction?

Since we are a new brand, we are just introducing ourselves on social media. Find us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Finally, what is your favorite app?

My favorite social app is Pinterest! It’s great for spotting hair trends and sharing how-to new fashion, hair and beauty styles. IRL I love decorating my home or coming up with new workout ideas.
